The load model, explained
For these upright movements, the tool assumes bodyweight contributes fully: effective load = bodyweight + added weight − assistance. It uses the app’s dedicated calisthenics estimator, averaging the Epley and Lombardi multipliers for 1–10 completed reps. A single completed rep keeps its entered effective load. It does not use the barbell 1RM estimator.
Worked example and limitations
At 75 kg bodyweight with 20 kg added for five completed reps, effective load is 95 kg. The estimate is 111.2 kg total, or 36.2 kg added. This is a model, not a tested maximum. Band assistance changes through the movement, machines vary, and technique and range of motion matter. Do not apply this full-bodyweight model to push-ups, holds or every calisthenics exercise.

Common questions.
Why include bodyweight?
A weighted pull-up or dip moves your body as well as external weight. Estimating from the added plate alone omits most of the load. This tool assumes full bodyweight contributes to the selected upright movement.
What does a negative added-load estimate mean?
It means the model estimates that assistance would still be needed for that rep target. The result displays the amount as assistance rather than implying a negative plate weight.
Does this estimate qualify for a leaderboard?
No. It is a separately labelled fitness estimate, not a verified lift or a 1000 pound club total. Calisthenics leaderboard badges continue to use completed reps.
