Estimated basal metabolic rate

1,483 kcal/day

Formula: mifflin st jeor.

BMR describes resting energy use. It is not a daily food target.

How this BMR calculator works

The default Mifflin-St Jeor equation uses weight in kilograms, height in centimetres, age and the selected sex coefficient. Revised Harris-Benedict uses a different population equation. Katch-McArdle uses estimated lean mass; leave body fat blank and the tool falls back to Mifflin-St Jeor, with a visible note. The same formulas power One Fitness Hub nutrition estimates.

Worked example

A 35-year-old woman weighing 77.1107 kg and measuring 167.64 cm has an estimated BMR of 1,483 kcal/day with Mifflin-St Jeor. Daily movement, digestion and exercise add to that resting requirement.

Common questions.

Is BMR the same as TDEE?

No. BMR estimates energy used at rest. TDEE estimates a whole day, including activity. Use the TDEE and macro calculator to include daily activity.

Which BMR formula should I choose?

Mifflin-St Jeor is the default. Harris-Benedict is another population estimate. Katch-McArdle needs a useful body fat estimate; without one this tool uses Mifflin-St Jeor and says so. None measures your metabolism.

Can someone under 18 use these calorie estimates?

This tool displays estimates only for adults 18 and over. A doctor or dietitian can advise on individual energy needs.
